Aarav came into our life and made our life meaningful and worthwhile. He is a bright, smart, cheerful child who loved to play with his toys and games - cars, planes and Legos. He would build Legos for hours and play with them carefully without breaking them down. He always said – “playing is my life”. He was especially fond of Disney characters and movies. He idolized McQueen from movie Cars and Dusty from movie Planes. Like his favourite characters, he is very kind, loving and happy kid with infectious smile.

He touched so many lives around the world. He made friends wherever he went and enjoyed getting together with them to celebrate festivals and special occasions.  He was a very well behaved kid. His day care and school teachers, family and friends loved him for his politeness and good behaviour. Aarav taught us so much about how to live as we saw him embracing every aspect of his life with enthusiasm.

Aarav was always keen on learning new things and asked many “why” questions during a day – “Mumma how many continents are there”, “Mumma which country is Paris in”. His inquisitive nature and unique observation made him learn new things faster. He was ahead of his grade levels and made us proud parents when teachers and other parents appreciated his learning abilities. He loved drawing and colouring as much as he enjoyed playing word games and doing math, which we called ‘math magic’.

In short time that Aarav was here, he travelled quite a few places on camping, beach and family vacations, liking each and every one of them. On vacations, he enjoyed everything – elevator ride on Eiffel Tower and museums in Paris, playing ball and making sand castles on beaches, night owl parties on cruise, monuments in Florence, feeding pigeons in Venice, subways in London. It was as if he wanted to live every moment to the fullest...as if he was soaking in as much as he could ....as if he knew he doesn't have long to see it all. But his favourite vacation was, like any other kid, Disneyland. Being a diehard McQueen fan, he was just thrilled to be in Carsland and was ecstatic on the McQueen ride. Equally, he cherished the time with family and friends - loving and embracing, while respecting them.

In this last year Aarav faced huge challenges with his devastating illness. Despite these problems, which many of us may not even think about bearing, he rarely complained and accepted them all with courage and dignity. Even in the worst of circumstances, he did not lose his smile till the very last moment. He truly is a hero and will always be our little ‘Superhero’.

We are forever changed by losing him too soon but we promise to focus on how happy he made us for the time we had him in our lives and will forever cherish those sweet memories.

Until we meet again son, our sunshine, know that we love you now and always!
