"I knew Aaron from the time we were five years old. In fact one of my earliest memories is sitting at Aaron's table in grade primary.
What sticks out most in my mind when I think if Aaron is playing basket ball with him. I had never played before grade 11 and so to say I was raw was an under statement.
In our first game I literally had no idea what I was doing. During a timeout Aaron leaned on my shoulder and said, "hey stop worrying about it. Your fine. Just don't let him score and when Hughie MacDonald or I shoot go get the ball and get it back to us. That's all you have to do. Devin you can jump over any of those guys. Just go it the ball for us."
Then he winked at me.
I never told him how much that meant. It made me feel so much better that he had faith in me to do that part so he could do his. Aaron knew how to lead at 16 years old.
I've always tried to lead that way my whole life since then, and it's all because of that one moment with Aaron Beaton."
"Hi Marley and Alexa,
Your mom and I first met when we worked together at the Janeway NICU in Newfoundland. We became fast friends and that lead to carpooling and then get togethers outside of work. That was when my husband and I first met your dad!! The first thing you saw was that big easy smile:))) He was such a happy person and always had us and your mom laughing!!! But you guys already know that hey ?!?
I would like to tell you something about your dad that maybe you wouldn't know. He was quite involved in the community here in CBS and his passion at the time we knew him was The CBS Railway Bed. He saw such potential in it and tirelessly fundraised to improve it so everyone could avail of it. I am quite pleased to tell you that our old railway beds are now a beautiful walking trail all through the community and everytime I walk there I think of your Dad and you guys always!!
We were quite lucky to have known your Dad and Mom as you were only here a few years you were just a baby and your sister wasn't born yet.
Your Dad made quite an impression wherever he went . We think of all of you quite often and hope you are doing well. Give your Mom a big hug from me!!
Love Susan Bursey"
