His Life
September 5, 2016

Baki, as he was affectionately called by most who knew him, attended Adom Creche which also happened to be within a 5 minute walking distance from his family home. He attended Primary and Junior Secondary School at St. John’s then went on to study Science and Biology at Winneba Secondary School.

Baki furthered his education at The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry. Baki’s dream was to become a doctor but under counsel from his father, he decided to carry out his National Service at Tema Oil Refinery instead.

Shortly after he completed his service, the idea of opening Royal Bank with his father came up which lead Baki to study for his ACCA in London. Though he did not complete this course, he came back to Ghana and worked for Imperial, an insurance company owned by his father. He was then later transferred to Global Haulage, as the project manager for the group.

Baki suffered from epilepsy and experienced his first seizure while studying at KNUST. Unfortunately, he succumbed to the effects of the most recent one, which occurred at his residence in Spintex. He leaves behind his widow, Shaireen, and their one year old son, Zaheer.
