Longtime Buena Vista resident, Adeline J. Hamilton, was called from the presence of loving family to meet the Lord in heaven on November 16, 2012.
Born on January 27, 1920, to John P. and Frances Faust, she married Alexander Hamilton Jr. on October 22, 1947. Adeline was well-known as an avid and skillful gardener, willing to share plants and advice with all who asked. As a homemaker, she was devoted to caring for family and friends. Her friendly face greeted patrons of the Buena Vista Post Office during her years of work there as a clerk. Above all, she will be remembered for her faith in God.
Survivors include her son, Alexander (Bonnie) Hamilton, daughters Karen Harrison and Adrienne (Dan) Jarvis; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan), Jarrett, Whitney (Shae), Alexander, Alexandra, Emily, Scott, Nicholas, Jillian, Ethan and Jacob; and one great-granddaughter and namesake, Adelynn. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Beulah Faust, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and by her son-in-law, Robert Harrison.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:30 am at First Assembly of God of Greater Lansing, Michigan. A private family burial in Pennsylvania will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western PA [https://www.cff.org/GetInvolved/ManyWaysToGive/Donate/index.cfm] or to the Mon-Yough Trail Council of the Youghiogheny River Trail. Honor Adeline’s memory by planting a flower next spring.

"I wasn't sleeping!"
One thing we will all remember about Mimi is that she could fall asleep almost anywhere but would always deny she had been asleep. This picture was taken in a gift shop in Mackinaw City, Michigan, on Jen's graduation trip. We were in a gift shop and realized that we had lost track of her. We found her asleep in the seat next to Fudgie the Bear. The amazing thing was that she still denied she had been sleeping, saying, "I was just resting my eyes for a minute."
Our Short Walks and Talks
I remember the times I got to spend with Mimi when I sat with her on occasion. I really enjoyed our Walks and Talks that we had. She told me all about how she used to mow her own lawn, and she really enjoyed working in her flower beds. As time went by and Mimi got to where she needed more help getting in and out of her bed we had a few more chuckles, I would have her wrap her arms around my neck so I could scooch her up on her pillow, I would have to tell her ok Mimi you can let go now, she would giggle, give me a little squeeze and let go.I looked over at the Jarvis house last night and Mimi's bedroom light was off, her light had been on for years. I told my husband with tears in my eyes that's going to take getting used to. You will be deeply missed Mimi but as we all know her soul lives on in the Heavens above. She is now with her husband and is no longer in pain or has any illness and she can see as far as the heavens above.
