A friend, father, brother and husband has passed away. Only three days after your 44th birthday, Akin, you depart the world for your final rest in heaven.

How shocking that such a young man who has toiled so hard to make a better life for himself, his family and his friends has been taken from us.

Akin started his journey in Nigeria, accomplishing his education with a First class degree in International Relations. Being the determined and ambitious person he was, he proceeded to the United Kingdom to pursue a Master’s degree. These educational achievements served to be the foundation of what was to be a highly successful career in banking.

What makes Akin’s passing away even more unbearable for all who knew him is the fact that he always shared his success by touching the lives of so many people, not just his immediate family, but also his extended family and friends.

So many people’s lives have been enriched because of Akin. He was himself every single day of his life, and he never pretended to be anything he was not. He was someone you would learn things from, and he was someone you would be inspired by.

We will miss Akin very much and we will keep the memories of him fresh in our minds.

We pray for his wife and children and for his family to be comforted at this very sad and difficult time. Akin would want his family and friends to live their lives and to just cherish the times shared but not to feel sad or to lose hope. He would want them to carry on as usual.

May his beautiful soul rest in perfect  peace.
