Dad was also blessed with18 great grandchildren.(two more on the way) several nieces and nephews and was fondly known by many as "Captain Al" because of his love of boating and fishing. He will be remembered for his trademark hats and vests with the many pins attached and the collection of keys always attached to his waist. "We joked that he had the keys to most of the city". Dad was a man with a keen sense of humor and had jokes or sayings in almost all situations. He would answer a phone call with "fancy meeting you here" or tell me when asked how he was doing that he was "able to sit up and take nourishment". When I would say I would see him soon he would answer "the good lord willing and the creek don't rise". Dad loved animals and spoiled all of his pets and would have tea and toast with Chloe every morning before starting his day. Dad was a creative and talented man building and fixing things, collecting and cherishing his treasures. The apple never falls far from the tree as I know myself and some of my siblings have the same love of treasures and collecting. Dad was a kind man with a big heart and was known for his knowledge and insight into so many things. I'm sure his many friends and neighbours will miss his trademark laugh and smile, I know we sure will.
