PALMER, Albert Henry – passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1st, 2019 in Lima, PA at the age of 97.

Albert, known to most as Al, is predeceased by his extraordinary wife of over 65 years, Dinetta Tally Palmer, and loving sister Thelma Fennel and his beloved brother-in-law George Lee Tally. Survived by his loving daughter Diane and devoted son-in-law Ed Chalmus (Sicklerville, NJ), by caring and ever-present nieces, Joan and Joann Pearson (Chester, PA), by his sister-in-law Jacqueline Tally (Wilmington, NC) nephews Richard Pearson and wife Tia (Sierra Vista, AZ) and John Q. Tally and wife Laura (Wilmington, NC), granddaughter, Donna Marie and grandson-in-law Jerry Moore of Collegeville, PA. And by his delight, great-granddaughter Kelly Victoria Moore.

Albert was born on August 15 th’ 1921 in Monck’s Corner South Carolina to Mamie and Henry Palmer. His family moved and settled in Chester, PA where he met and married his childhood sweetheart and beautiful bride, Dinetta Tally, in 1941. The couple welcomed their only daughter, Diane, in 1942.
He worked at and retired from Westinghouse in 1981 after 30 years driving tractor trailers. Al was a community fixture in Chester. He knew generations of families and those he did not know, knew him.

He will be remembered fondly for his wonderful bass singing voice, his sense of humor and laid-back personality.He rarely strayed far from home, as he loved his close-knit family who doted on him constantly.

A private graveside service will be held.
