Obituary

April 3, 2016

Albert "Al" Leroy McCullough

On April 1st, 2016, Albert peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home in Helena, Montana. He was 84 years old.

Albert McCullough was born in the town of Caruthersville, Missouri on December 14, 1931. He was the second son of Mary and Bob Burl McCullough.

Growing up on catfish, hush puppies, and good ol' comfort food from mama, Albert spent his early years raising hell with his brothers on the farm in Missouri.

At the start of the Korean conflict, he joined the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Toledo. Albert held pride for his ship his entire life, recollecting countless stories of travelling the world with his shipmates.

After the Navy, Albert came home to spread his roots long and far. He spent years working on cars, managing a variety of businesses, working on the oil fields in Alaska and raising his five sons.

In retirement, Albert met his wife, Cindy, who blessed him with a daughter. They spent the next several years soaking up the sun in Arizona.

In 2013, Albert and Cindy returned to Montana and spent the remainder of his life making memories fishing at the lake and enjoying family the cowboy way.

Albert was preceded in death by one of his brothers (James). Albert is survived by his loving wife (Cindy), five sons (Bruce, Steven, Gary, Stuart, Gordon), one daughter (Jessica), two brothers (Robert, Billy), and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private family gathering will be held to remember the long and vibrant life of Albert. A celebration of his life will be held in the Summer at one of his favorite places.
