My valentine is gone, how I miss him on this special day. I miss his words and his songs. I reread the poetry he wrote long ago. And I still wonder where the time went and how it got away from us so fast. It's as if "we" were gone in an instant and forced to say goodbye against our will. I miss him every moment of every day. I always will.

how do you decide
who lives, who dies, who's left behind
I've witnessed the circle time and time again
I've watched the stars burn bright and stood by as they went dim
the lights have gone out
and yet I'm still home
everyone seems to go before me
but, I'm not alone
I'm sitting in the dark but I'm enlightened
I feel the warmth of the lost surround me
and I'm not frightened
Even as a child I was accustomed to having them near
perhaps my curiosity replaced fear
I'm still not afraid,
and life does go on
but, I dearly miss those who have gone
