Hi Brother, We are passing on the family history that you introduced us to when you showed us the 'old family homestead' in Gobernador oh so long ago. A new generation of Sandoval's will get to experience it. You will be there with us in spirit and we will toast you.  Love, Norleen

Al was one of the first people we met when we moved to Placitas in 2001. He was a real friend and we loved him and his family. We will always treasure the time we spent together solving puzzles. Al taught us to pronounce the spanish vowels properly and many historical facts about New Mexico. Al was a beautiful, giving spirit. We loved him and we will always miss him.

I feel blessed that I was able to spend some time with Al & Oma only days before Al passed. I first met Al when he was 34 and first son Ernie was only 5. Al was my brother-in-law. I have fond memories of times with Al over the years. He was a great role model for his boys, all who have his great sense of the importance of 'family'. I will certainly miss you, Al.

Ernest, Daniel & Carlos,
I am so very sorry for you loss. He was such a good dad. You three sons were his pride and joy. A medicine man said to his daughter as he laid dying, "If I leave one soul who carries on for me, I have accomplished my life's work." Your dad left three beautiful souls. You are in my heart and prayers. --Aunt Carla

When I think of my dad I always see my dad as the energetic, athletic man he was before he experienced the chemical burn to his lungs. On my dads 60th birthday he did 60 pushups in 60 seconds. I heard the song forever young yesterday it touched my heart. Follow this link to the video of Forever young by Jay-Z:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1nbvplgElw

The story of my Dads life is a story of love. My dad loved my brothers and I with a selfless, all encompassing love. In the times in my life when I battled addictions and bad associations the love of my father was the light that pointed me in the right direction and guided me to a better place. Knowing the love of my earthly father allowed me to accept the love of my heavenly father.

I Cor 13 this verse reminds me of you, "Love is patient and kind, not jealous, boastful or rude.It does not demand its own way.Is not irritable, and keeps no record of being wronged..love never gives up,never loses faith,is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.Until I see you again,I love you, your daughter,Andrea

I will forever remember my Father in laws beautiful passion for life,he smiled with all his HEART, loved his sons with all his HEART, gave of himself selflessly with all his HEART. I will forever see him as the strong, vibrant man i met over 20 years ago... and is once again in my Heavenly Father's arms. Thankfully, these same attributes live in my husband Daniel and our 5 children.

Always enjoyed Al's visits to Illinois/Wisconsin to see the interactions with his grandkids and playing scrabble and solving puzzles with my mom. You could always learn something from Al whether it be a piece of history or solving a problem. You will be missed and we know you will continue to watch over your family to keep them healthy and safe.

I will never forget his level of love for his boys, stories about his childhood in the "Canyones", emphasis for a strong education and making a difference, ability to prove in theories through critical thinking and mathematical formulas, love of poetry and the Spanish language, enjoying his magic tricks and ability to change peoples lives. You will always be in heart and mind.

My dad loved Spanish poetry and books. One of his favorite lines is the opening line from 'Cien Años de Soledad'--Muchos años después, frente al pelotón de fusilamiento, el coronel Aureliano Buendía había de recordar aquella tarde remota en que su padre lo llevó a conocer el hielo.

My amazing brother loved to read PHYSICS books for fun! I'll always associate the smell of Doublemint gum with him. His 80th birthday party in Placitas was so much fun. We all want such a great send-off. Thank you Ernie, Carlos, Daniel and Oma for giving us a chance to say good-bye. I love you, Bernabe.

There are so many memories from my childhood to last year when we spent Valentines weekend with Oma and Al. He will be missed, but I know he is with my mom having a great time! Some of the best memories where in New Braunfels with all the kids. I love you Uncle Al, you will be missed.
