Alford Ray's ancestery decribes men and women  of courage who fought for this great country and worked  the land as ranchers, farmers and merchants. The women endured hardships as they worked along side their husbands . Life was hard and losing a child to diease was common. Stories were handed down about cougars in trees  after dusk waiting to attack unsuspecting travelers . One family member was killed  by bumble bees while plowing a field. The family came from England and a Warren was abord the Mayflower.
