Four years has gone so quickly. For those of us who were like children to you, your spirit still lingers on our lives. The pain of your passing away will never heal. But our faith in God has allowed us to move on and continue to make you proud of us. We remember you daily in our prayers. We know where ever you are, you are keeping an eye over us. May God continue to have wonderful angels watch over you. You will always be remembered.

Aunty Alice was a childhood friend / sister to our late mom (Mrs. Hannah D Konteh). She had a beautiful smile and always had kind words to say to those around her. A thousand words can’t bring her back to us; neither will a million tears because we cried. The shock was severe, the blow was hard because we never dreamt your death so near.
We miss you Aunty Alice, you will always be in our mind.

Home
You’re home in Heaven, Dear Mama Alice!
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and beauty
In the everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
Mama you are now at peace forever,
Safe and sound home in Heaven at last.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand,
Do it now, while life remaineth . . .
You shall rest

Mammy Alice, may your soul rest in perfect peace. Makeni has lost a dear mother, friend and supportive citizen. You mourned and celebrated with everyone. I remember when you paid my family a visit over a year ago, you strugglled to climb stairs to give your support during our days of mourning. Your receptive and genuinine smile will be missed. R.I.P

My dear departed Ma Florence, I met you only once and very recently but it feels as though I have known that gap toothed warm and welcoming smile all my life. You were great but simple, blessed but humble, a political figure but frankly vocal. I feel very privileged to have met you. limited space so I shall simply say adieu & may your spirit continue to lead ur beloved Sierra Leone aright.

July 21, 2012

COCORIOKO NEWSPAPER LIMITED and the Sierra Leone Daily Nation extend our sympathy to President Ernest Bai Koroma and members of her family for the sad passing of the First Mother of the nation, Mrs. Alice Rosaline Koroma.

The diamond has lost its luster with the death of a God-fearing and magnificent mother who will be missed by all whose  lives she touched  with her love and kindness during her 80 years of sojourn on this earth.

Mamma Alice, you gave us a perfect gift, the President of our beloved nation, H.E. Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, who is not only the best President we have had since Independence by dint of the marvelous work he has done for our nation and the 9th best President in Africa, according to a foreign magazine, the East African. He is a shining star of international relations and diplomacy , as you must have seen from the praises he receives at the UN.

May light perpetual shine on you in the great beyond and may your soul rest in peace until we meet again by the side of Jesus Christ.

NOTA BENE

This picture of Madam Alice Rosaline Koroma was designed by Mr. Alie Turay. We publish it with full acknowledgement and credit to Mr. Alie Turay.
