His Life

The son of the late Isaiah and Will Ella Tolbert Clayborn, Mr. Tolbert was born in Yazoo City, MS and was a U. S. Army Veteran of 20 years. He was employed with the City of Columbus Sanitation Department and was the manager of transportation at Auten Poulty Food Service Co. He obtained an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science, and was a Certified Addiction Counselor. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church where he served diligently with Deacons Ministry, Evangelist Team, Youth Leader Committee, Culinary and Church Executive Committees, and the Men of Canaan Mentoring Program. He was also a member of the End Zone and Controllers Civic and Social Clubs, and the VFW Post 665.

Surviving his departure with cherished memories, include: his wife, Mrs. Loretta Anderson Tolbert; five children, Brian Tolbert (Katrina), Cambria Tolbert, Regina Tolbert, Regina Davenport and Charlesetta Davenport; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, siblings, Isaiah Williams, Jonathan Clayborne (Marla), Cleother Clayborne, Tommie Clayborne (Shirley), Willie J. Clayborne, Ernest Clayborne (Margie), Parnell Claybone (Joyce), Henry Combs (Margaret), Hubbert Carr (Taliba), Charleston Carr (Carol), David Carr, Frankie Brown, Willie Mae Armstrong, Christeen Conner (Nathaniel), Reacheal Friend (Christopher), Mary Ann Clayborne, Shirley Clayborne, Dorothy Givens (Fred), and Dorothy McPherson; a host of nieces, nephews, loving in-laws, cousins, and friends.
