Dear Althea
Me and Tessa miss you so much! I just want you to call and ask me to go to some jazz concert; you were the Best. That million dollar smile and your sweet disposition and laughter will forever be in my heart. I will never have a friend with so much in common; we were soul sisters. When Juno (who is 21) goes to heaven you will be his mommy; we will have traded cats! I know you are now up there Adorned in jewels and crowed in Glory.
You will be forever missed and forever loved and never forgotten.
You are my Angel

A beautiful Angel

August 19, 2016

Althea was my wonderful friend for over 20 years.  I remember meeting her at Emory University as we were young nurses.  We instantly bonded and have been friends ever since.  It was her idea that we go into clinical research so we could travel the world- and we have!  We have had many laughs, traveled, had so many great meals and enjoyed so many great concerts.  She was a big jazz fan and adventurer.  One of my co-workers said "Althea is good for a laugh an hour"; yes she was and humor is one of the highest forms of intelligence.

We last went to Puerto Rico in January this year.  Althea loved the ocean.  We so many wonderfuly people and everyone was attracted to her beautiful bold smile and warm personality.    We met a lady in Old San Juan who sat and talked to us and was especially fond of Althea.  She looked up her name and found it meant "healer" and she was that indeed.  She was kind and brought a healing energy to all that knew her.

Walking on the beach one day she said to me "slow down" ! , she wanted to take it all in - she knew what it meant to stop and smell the roses and that is the life lesson I will take from her.

I love you Althea, and I will miss you but I know you are in heaven with my mother (she always loved Althea).

You have your wings now my dear and God is holding you in his arms forever.

Your friend until the end

Wendy
