This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Alvin Tietgen, 95, born on September 9, 1917 and passed away on August 31, 2013. Alvin proudly served in the United States Air Force from January 15, 1942 through September 19, 1945.

Alvin served in the following battles and campaigns:
Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Rome Arno, Sicily, Rhineland, Naples Foggia, GO 33 WD 45

Alvin was an Airplane Maintenance Technician and qualified for the AAF Technicians Badge

Alvin earned and was authorized to wear the following: 
Good Conduct ribbon, EAME Theatre ribbon, American Theatre ribbon, 2 Bronze Battle Stars.
