The son of Frank and Leola M. Doby Anderson, Mr. Anderson was born in Jarrett, Virginia, and was retired from the U. S. Army following 21 years of dedicated service. He also worked as a forklift driver at Kinnett Dairy. He was a member of St. Elmo Baptist Church in Omaha, GA and was a Modern Free Mason.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharniese Reynolds Anderson, and two siblings, Kingsley Anderson and Lucinda Anderson.

Survivors include: his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Lucille Mitchell Anderson; three sons, Roger Anderson (Kizza), Alvin Anderson, Jr., and Dr. Renette Slater, Jr.; four daughters, Cassandra Troupe (Anthony), Ashley Anderson, Latoysha Baldwin (Craig, Sr.) and Lera Slater-Griffin (John); twenty grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Walker (Marsha); three sisters, Vanessa Rivers (Sam), Gail Hendricks and Barbara Anderson; a host of loving nieces, nephews , cousins, relatives and friends.
