Reflections of Life

“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

A Time to Be Born

On April 22, 1998, God blessed Miss Nicole Ford and Mr. Pless Thornton with a beautiful rose and they named Amiyah Nicole Thornton.

A Time to Plant and Serve

In 2009, Amiyah accepted Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Cleavon Meabon. She served as president of the youth usher ministry, she was a member of the youth choir, she also was a member of dance ministry, Announced Praisers. Amiyah is a 2016 graduate of Callaway High School. She was a cheerleader and she worked at Food Depot, as a cashier. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with family, friends, and her dog Blue.

A Time to Love

Amiyah touched many lives with her beautiful smile, silly acts, and so much more.

A Time to Mourn

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eye. And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Revelation 21:4

Amiyah is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and grandfather, Tommie F. Brown and Richard Ford, paternal grandmother and grandfather, Shirley Ann Thornton and Willie Thornton, uncle, Roger Thornton, aunt, Andrea Thornton, maternal great grandmother, Beatrice Black.

Amiyah leaves to cherish her memory: Her mother, Miss Nicole Ford, father, Mr. Pless Thornton, two sisters, N’Kiya Ford and Jada Thornton, nine aunts, seven uncles, a special aunt, Tiffany Brown, God-mother, Yoshi Phillips, a very special friend, Cedric Maynard.
