His Life
March 9, 2016

Andy was born September 6, 1959, in Alpena MI to Barbara and Damon Pollard. Andy attended and graduated from Aptos High Shcool and joined the Marine Corps in 1979; Andy went on to honorably serve for 15 years and traveled to serve in many states and countries. He was stationed in Okinawa Japan, and served in Desert Storm, ultimately finishing up service in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in 1991 where he moved his wife and children to Modesto California to start a computer programming business with long time family friend Archie Mulvane. Andy was divorced in 1993, moved again and took a job at a small company in Mountain View CA, Uncommon Computer Solutions that lead him to ICL/Fujitsu. While working at ICL/Fujitsu, he met his future bride Shawn McCammon, a storybook romance that lasted 21 years. Andy and Shawn were married August 6, 1995, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Santa Clara CA. Those who knew Andy and Shawn knew that they were in love and that their marriage was one to last.

Work transferred the Pollards to San Diego in 1997 where they have lived and made many friends. Andy was a proud member of the San Diego Digital SLR Photography group where he enjoyed creating and supporting the group dynamics by way of the website design and management and contributions to choosing the monthly group shoots. His favorite pastimes were XBOX video games, photography and hanging out with his family and friends exploring the city.

Andy touched so many with his passion for creating and crafting. His many hobbies included photography, woodworking, painting, and computer programming. He also was an all around handyman who enjoyed working on the house and fixing anything broken, enjoying the many computer challenges he couldn't explain. There are too many words to describe his talent for great customer service when a family member or friend had a computer problem.

The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the entire team at Scripps Memorial La Jolla ER and CVICU for their guidance and compassionate care.

Andy is survived by his wife Shawn, mother Barbara, daughter Nicole (Ford), son Michael, brother Matt, father Damon and niece Allison.
