His Life

Andy's Achievement

October 4, 2013

Since being at Portobello High School, Andy had visions of himself becoming a writer. In his youth he wrote various articles which were published.
About 15 years ago Andy decided he would like to start wrting his book. He wrote a few chapters. Due to lack of time Andy never really went back to it.
In 2012 Andy decided the time was right to start again. With his great intellect and wonderful sense of humour he knuckled down to write his book.
As Andy's health deterioated he was unable to move around a lot so he spent most of his days in front of the computer. By the end of 2012 Andy's dream was accomplished!
After doing loads of research on publication, Andy had everything ready to go to a publisher to view.
Sadly Andy never lived to see the end result.
However, in Andy's memory we will take his dream forward and hopefully have his book published.
What greater memory of Andrew Rex Figures than to see his dream come true.
We loved and miss you greatly sweetheart! xxx

My incredible hubby.

A love like ours was hard to find but we found it together. Life was so amazing.
When you were diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, you were given 5 - 7 years. You were detemined you'd fight it. You did for 11 years. You were waiting on a donor for lungs. Sadly there were none. We decided we would do as much as we could while you still had your health, I'm glad we did.
You never complained and made the most of what you had. Although your strength and spirit were very strong, sadly your body wasn't and you suddenly left us. We know you didn't want to leave us.
We had so much to live for. You always wanted the best for Chloe, Steven, Craig, Claire and me. It's now all gone. We are all heart broken at your sudden departure but no-one will take away the wonderful memories you have left us with. We will always love and miss you.
Thank you!
Carlyn
