Thinking of mama and our farm animals, the geese, the squirrels, rabbits, chickens, Siamese cats, Mutt and Fuzzie, Jay Bird and Mary just to name a few.
All the canning we did and watching kids and tending to the garden were the best years off our lives.

Just remembering mama and Aunt Marge and their descriptions if each others coffee, mom said Aunt Marge made coffee weak as cat pee or dishwater, Marge said moms coffee was stiff as mud.☕

Mama told the story of a calf born blind. Granddaddy was going to kill it but mama told him she would take care of it. It followed her around like a dog. She led it everywhere and it came to know where every rock and tree was on the farm.

Was telling the boys about mama and the old blue station wagon she drove. We were on a back road heading to Liberty from the old white house we lived in. We got to old horseshoe curve and the car stopped in the curve. We finally figured out we were out of gas. No cell phones I had to walk up to a house and call daddy at the Bi-Rite(name was changed to Food Rite later) he wasn't happy.

Mama loved animals and babies. We went to see the cougar that was at the dealship in Greensboro, NC. It was in a large cage and roped off. Mama went up and reached in and scratched its ears. It rolled over and she scratched its belly. A salesperson came up and told her not to that it would bite her or worse. It didn't and she played with it until we left.
