Forever in my thoughts

October 5, 2019
I was actually just thinking about you the other day, and remembering you with a co worker. I was telling her how you would always stop by unannounced but always with treats for the kids, or amazing stories from your adventures. You were definitely odd, but I think that was one of the best things about you. And such a giving heart. That piece of you lives on through your daughter Denise. Thanks for being unapologetically you, its definitely one of the things that continues to stick with me and the impact that you made on my life ♡♡ your great granddaughter misses you, fondly remembers you always bringing the almond cookies. Rest well Grandma ♡

Remembering Anna...

January 21, 2014
Talking with my son, Paul about the passing of his grandma...made me remember things about her I had not truly appreciated until just now. In all the years I have known her Anna had nothing but positive things to say about her children and grandchildren...about how smart and how successful they all were and how proud she was. Although her methods were not always conventional Anna would drop everything to help out her family...even when the help wasn't wanted...her motives were pure all she wanted was to be part of her family. Anna was the ultimate mama bear...don't you dare cross or threaten her cubs or you will face an opponent who is not only smart but one who is willing to put herself in harms way to make her babies are protected. RIP Anna...you were larger than life and will be greatly missed!

Grandma, our little Tsar Bomba

January 21, 2014

This story dates back between Oct 2009 and November 2009, right after my son Paul Sakrekoff V was born.

Shorly after our Son's birth he came down with a bad stomach bug which in turn was dehydrating him. I rushed him to the hospital and we ended up staying in the hospital for a few days until he was well enough to come back home with us.

During this time we had help from my previous Step Mom Dianne, my Father Paul, and Grandma. They all were a great help to us new parents and I really appreciate everything each one of them had done for us.

The day our son was released from the hospital, Grandma and my Dad were there with us and helping us gather all of our belongings so we could go back home. As we were just about to exit the elevator to enter the lobby, a crazed woman was on the loose with hospital security in persuit of her. She was screaming at the top of her lungs and resisting her arrest, that was until she came face to face with Grandma as the elevator door opened with us inside of it. Grandma's instincts kicked in once the elevator doors opened and the woman was rampantly making her way towards us. Grandma stood in front of all of us like a guard dog waiting to unleash her wrath. The woman saw the look on Grandma's face, and even though at a small stature, she was ready for whatever came at us. The woman then was forcibly removed as she stared helplessly at Grandma.

That woman, whatever her woes, or for whatever reason she may have been acting as crazy as she had been, just met someone crazier and meaner than she could ever imagine to be. My 5 foot tall, 75 year old Grandma.

I will always remember this moment as one of the best.
