Time to Say Goodbye

March 5, 2016
Time to Say Goodbye - Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro)

Anna wanted this song to be played at a ceremony celebrating her life.  This is being organized for Saturday, August 6, 2016 from noon to 4 pm. for her close friends and family.  Contact her son Andy for additional details.

Below are the words to the song sung by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli.

Time to Say Goodbye

When I’m alone
I dream on the horizon
and words fail;
yes, I know there is no light
in a room where the sun is absent,
if you are not with me, with me.
At the windows
show everyone my heart
which you set alight;
enclose within me
the light you
encountered on the street.

Time to say goodbye
to countries I never
saw and shared with you,
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I’ll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer.
It’s time to say goodbye…

When you are far away
I dream on the horizon
And words fail,
and, Yes, I know
that you are with me;
you, my moon, are here with me,
my sun, you are here with me,
with me, with me, with me.

Time to say goodbye
To countries I never
Saw and shared with you,
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I’ll go with you
On ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer,

with you I shall experience them again.
I’ll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer;
with you I shall experience them again.
I’ll go with you,
I with you.

Through her death, we are reminded of how God creates beauty out of the darkest times in our lives.

Even though we couldn’t keep her, God wrote a of story of love. A story of a beautiful mother, grandmother, and friend whose love for her family was so deep it compelled them to drop everything and come from all ends of the country to be at her bedside. Her family rushed in to hold her hand, support each other, cry, pray, and celebrate her life together.

They didn’t want to miss a moment of being there for her, because she were always there for them. She was at the center of a beautiful collection of family and friends and will be missed immensely.

Note: The video shows her granddaughter Ashley reading "A Day at the Beach" to Granny, a book she read hundreds of times to the grandchildren. She was enjoying the circle of love surround her the day before she passed.

A Proud Grandmother

March 4, 2016

She was a grandmother to 8: (from her son Anthony) Tony and Ashley, (from her daughter Cindy) Lindsay and Kelsey, (from her son Andy) Laura and Gary, (from her daughter Jenny) Jaime and Kristi. Referred to affectionately by her grandchildren as "Granny" She was extremely close to them all.

She showed her love by feeding everyone and would always offer food to any of them when they visited. They would jokingly say you couldn't go to Granny's house if you weren't hungry--she was going to make you eat something whether or not you wanted to.

She a very emotionally empathetic person and was very quick to laugh or cry. She cared very deeply if any of her grandchildren were going through something difficult; she was extremely compassionate and always willing to listen and provide comfort or advice.

Granny was also very quick to laugh and wasn't afraid to make jokes at her own expense. She would record daytime TV talk programs on topics about health, diet, fashion, cooking, etc. and then show them to her children and grandchildren when they visited. She always worried about the welfare of her family and this was another way for her to offer advice and be helpful even if it wasn't coming straight from her.

She was an extremely kind and generous woman. She had a huge heart and was very dearly beloved by all of her grandchildren.

A Single Mother in Delaware

March 4, 2016

They moved closer to his business in Wilmington and purchased a house in Heritage Park in 1970. However, her husband had developed heart disease and a couple of years later, at the age of 42, in 1972 he passed away.

So there she was in Delaware.  A 41 year old widow with four children Andy (13), Anthony (11), Cindy (10)  and little Jenny (6).

She didn't have it easy. She was left with business debts totaling more than the life insurance.  She had to remortgage the house to pay off those debts.

The family lived on social security and veteran's benefits.  But after a couple of years, that was not enough.  Through the help of a relative, Anna got employment at the Industrial Lift Truck company in Newark, DE where she worked as a secretary.

There they lived a typical suburban life. The family had a pool in the back yard and would host parties frequently for friends and relatives.
