|Let the memory of Anna be with us forever|
"I was going through some boxes in the garage and came upon a huge amount of Phi Delta Kappa stuff. One of the items was a photo of Anna, which I put in a special place that I cannot find now. (Help me Anna!) I NEVER forget Anna. She was my big sister and mentor. I have many fond memories of the time that we were pen pals with our respective classes of students at our respective schools. Sorta the Haves and Have Nots, but it worked. Anna, Charles, Alex and I spent some great times visiting one another, laughing, playing cards, eating. I loved her dearly and miss her terribly! She always knew how to solve a problem and if she didn't, she'd call you back with a few possibilities. In the African tradition, a person does not really die as long as her/his name is spoken. Anna, Anna, ANNA!"
"3 years today Mom, we all miss you terribly. I know you are close, I feel you often. You have grand babies now. You always told me I would have twin boy's...and well I did ;-) Ryne and Cameron are the best thing ever ;-) I know you know cause I felt you all time when I first brought them home from the hospital. I tell them every night "Grandma Womack in heaven loves you" I try s hard to be like you but its hard to be perfect. If I can just get the going out with grace thing down ;-) i'd be okay. I love and miss you bunches."
"As we start our 5775th year in the Jewish Calendar I can't help thinking that it is not the number of years that one spends on this Earth but what one does with them.
In Anna's case she accomplished SOOOOOO MUCH in such a short period of time.
The beautiful part of her accomplishments is that she did it by influencing countless number of youngsters many of whom will no doubt make huge contributions to the World-all because Anna was part of their early childhood formation. George Landau"
"Dear Anna, I was traveling on your BD, but I didn't forget you! You and my dad, Percy Corke, share the same birthday, which is fitting since you both were my guides. I think of you often and I promise that I will check in on Charles from time to time. Love you, dear Big Sister Friend!"
"Happy Birthday dearest friend. Oh so many wonderful memories!"
"There are so many times that Norbert and I are reminded of the joy dear Anna brought into our lives. She had such a beautiful soul and a lovely smile. We miss her wit, her wisdom and her loving friendship. Anna lives forever in our hearts.
Carol and Norbert
"My dear Aunt. Forever in my heart."
"Dear Charles and family
I think of Anna so often remembering the wonderful times we shared as we trained and traveled together and of you and your family as well. There is always a smile on my face when I think of Anna and the goodness she spread around her."
I am very glad that during this past year that we were able to organize a Ceremony to Honor Anna at Bel Aire School, where she left her mark of excellence, that continues on to this day!
Sending you, your children and grandchildren my VERY BEST and WARMEST THOUGHTS. George"
"Can it be two years? Norbert and I think of Anna so often. She will always be remembered with love, and as a "good part" of the old Heald College team. Remembering her brings much joy to our hearts. Among many things I still remember how Anna and Charles showed up after work to visit a showing of Gary Bukovnik watercolors in San Francisco. What a gracious lady. I am certain that if we make it to Heaven Anna will come rushing up with her wonderful smile and greet us..Anna is not dead, she is just away.
away. You are forever in our thoughts dear friend.
Carol and Norbert Volk"
Thank you for bringing this 1st Anniversary of Anna's departure to my attention.
By total coincidence I was at the Bel Aire School this Friday afternoon and I thought of her. You must be gratified to know that her many contributions to this school's ongoing success are still very much in evidence!"
"Al-tho time has passed, my memory of you has not. I miss you on game day. I miss you at friends dinners, I miss your advise, I miss your beautiful smile. I miss you my Dear Anna.
"You will be missed. You were an accomplished woman in your own right. You definitely left the world a better place in what you were able to give to children and mentoring those following in your footsteps."
"Dear Charles, Anna was such an important part of my life - master teacher, team mate, principal and very special friend. She supported me through some very tough times as well as sharing wonderful experiences. She was an inspiration to me and others. I treasure the relationship we had and will miss her greatly. Wishing you strength and support. With sympathy and love, Anne"
"Charles and family,
For me Anna is not 'gone' as all I have to do is to think of that white sweater that was her 'trade mark' during the many years that she was a teacher and a principal in the Reed School District and THERE SHE IS!""
"Happy Birthday, dear Anna. Remembering fondly the luncheons we shared on this your special day. Think of you often."
"Norbert and I have wonderful memories of a joyous Anna from the old Heald College days.
We miss you dearly Anna, and your like will be very diffficult to imitate.
"Anna was the big sister I never had. Over the past 48 years we have had family fun and teaching adventures. It is bitter for me to know that I cannot pick up the phone or send and email to her and get one of her wise replies. Anna will always live in my heart and mind. Much love to you Charles, Chris, Jason and Tasha!"
"I didn't know Anna well, but I so appreciated our opportunity to talk following the celebration of the impending marriage of her son and my daughter. As we spoke, it was so clear to me how much she loved Charles and her children. That love will stay with them forever. I wish I could have had the chance to know her better. I know that she will be missed."
"Charles and Family -- I am at a loss for words to express the void of Anna's passing. The many tributes to Anna convey the impact she had on family, friends, and colleagues. The memories are many and all precious. I hope the many kind words will bring you peace in this difficult time. Anna was a true friend and one I will miss dearly. Anna, dear friend, rest in peace."
"My Dear Anna, I miss you terribly, I'm trying to " get on with my life " as you told me to do, but it's very difficult. I will always love you.
Your loving husband, Charles."
"Dear Anna,, I always looked forward to the thursday game days. You were mostly the winner and I was mostly the looser. But that didn't matter.you were always so much fun. I will never forget our ATV ride in Mexico. What a good sport you were. There is now such an empty spot in my heart.
I miss you Dear Anna"
"Even though we did not know Anna for many years, we quickly learned to love her and her special ways. Jean & I will miss her sweet side and her humor, so very much.. ."
"A dear friend. Always guarding my back and willing to assist in my ventures. I am so fortunate to have known her, worked together with her, and to be a part of her family. i have an empty spot in both my email and phone lists that can't be filled.
Peace to you, Anna."
"I have opened a jar of Wickles and a box of tissues in honor of my dear friend, mentor and big sister, Anna. I have known her since I was 17. We are Sorors from National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa and former teacher collaborators, wives and mothers. I loved and admired Anna and vowed to be just like her when I grow up. I'll have to settle for being 1/10 of her grace and wisdom. RIP Anna."
"People come into our lives at all stages and no matter when they're taken from us it's always too soon. Aunt Ann was a treasure and we will always miss her but she will forever live in our memories and in our hearts.
Courtney and Mary Ellen"

"Dearest Charles and family,
What a wonderful woman has left us. I will always remember how she looked out for the most exquisite "Plus size" clothing for me even though she was remarkably lean and gorgeous. It was her generous and caring nature. She will be missed in so many ways. Forever in my heart and my fondest memories, she will remain."
"Dear Charles and Family,
Anna was a wonderful person. I loves working with her in QEP.
She was smart, responsible, and always a team player. I loved all our lunches in later years, exploring new restaurants around the Bay.
I will miss her. My love and prayers are with you. Peg"
"Anna, I know I told you this, but I want your family to know it also. You always inspired me to be a better teacher. Thank-you for allowing me to have been a small part of your life. May God bless your family and keep them strong. Each of you have my deepest sympathy."
"Anna, you brought intelligence, grace and leadership to everyone at Heald College. Many lives were positively touched by your gifted spirits. Thank you for the honor of working with you."
I am very sorry to hear that your dear Anna has passed on. I never met the woman who brought so much joy and love to many. May Anna always shine through you and your eyes. Remember and share who Anna was; the little things, the milestones, her charm. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope to see you soon and wish you peace."
"Mom I so wish you were here. I miss you ...... don't really know how to move on."
"Charles: Your Anna was a true Lady, elegent and gracious but we know you know that. For us, your friends, fellow pilots and Airport folks, we cannot express in words any that can heal your loss. Please just know that we will pray for you and your family. Anna is alive as we work to live our lives as she lived hers. We are all brothers and sisters. All for one, and one for all. Peace"
"Dear Charles and family,
Although I only knew Anna a short time, I instantly loved her. I will forever treasure her friendship. She defined grace and was always truly a lady. I am so fortunate to have met her. Thank you so much for sharing her.
Love and blessing,
"To my Dear Friend Charles,
Thank you for sharing your "wonderful family" and "Magnificent Bride" with us, "airport bums"! We will miss Anna in so many way's, her smile, her helping clear a table, her helping serve a meal, her laughter, but for me, I will never forget, that look she would give me when I start to make a "Jackass" of myself, you know that LOOK!!!!"
"Dear Anna, We were so upset to hear of your passing. Don and Brenda told us last night. You were incredible, an inspiration and one of the bravest women I have ever known. Remember the night you and Charles taught us to play "Five Crowns"? Well, we haven't stopped and we think about you and Charles every time that deck comes out to the table. You are both in my heart always."
"Dear Charles, I am so sorry to hear of Anna's passing. I have found memories working with her at Heald. She was so inspiring, kind and a truly remarkable woman. My thoughts are with you and your family."
"Norbert and I have loving memories of Anna since our time with Heald. We were crushed to hear that she has died. We shall miss her very much, and keep her memory in our hearts. Thank you Charles for sending this to us. We shall pray for you in your missing.
Love, Carol and Norbert volk"
"Dear Uncle Charles and Family,
Aunt Anna will be greatly missed. I learned the true meaning of "liberation" from her. I loved her deeply. Let the light continue to shine and the memories will last forever. Her purpose in life and her humor impacted everyone she met. Your niece, Valerie"
"Dear Uncle Charles and Family,
Aunt Anna will be greatly missed. I learned the word "liberated" from her. She represented everything a woman should be. I loved her and will miss her deeply. I send prayers to you and yours that the light will still shine and the memories will last forever."
"Uncle Charles and family. I just received the news and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I thank God for Aunt Anna(we all called her Ann as children) and a life well lived. Even though the contact faded over the years, I will miss the comfort of just knowing she's there."
"This is beautiful. Dear Uncle Charles, Tasha, Jason, Christopher...your wife, mom (and my aunt) was truly special in her 'no nonsense kind of way'. I can't help but cry when I see this but am grateful to have known her and had her in my life. I love you all.
"Charles and family, our thoughts are with you. Cherish the memories - we remember seeing you dancing together. Sweet moment. Take care my friend"
