Annie Mae Lunceford Herman, 85, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
A native of Roberson County, the daughter of the late Willis and Alice Lockleer Chavis. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was retired from John Umstead Hospital in Butner.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Dan Hill and Rev. Craig Allison. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are her husband of sixty years, George Hicks Herman of the home, two brothers; Earl L. Chavis of Mebane, John F. Chavis of Alabama, four daughters; Jennie Lunceford Roberts of Wilmington, Carolyn Lunceford Hicks of Butner, Kathleen Lunceford Overton of Greenville, Barbara Ann Herman Hayes of Holden Beach, three sons; George H. Herman, Jr. of Creedmoor, Willis Lee Herman of Creedmoor, Robert Earl Herman of Mebane and eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times the home.
I remember well when we made stew. She always voluteered to do the onions. She could do as much as needed without crying. I never knew how. And she was so loyal to Concord Church, where we attended with her. All our love to you!
