I have begun researching the name "Arla" as I have a cousin born Oct 1, 1950. Coincidentally, my Arla's last name is Olsen. Olsen is her father's adopted name, which he did not know until he was about 30 yrs old. His birth name was Eierman. If you could share any info on the name Arla, please email me @ maureenallen@att.net. or contact me on Facebook. God's blessin's to you.

i first met Arla Marie Lippsmeyer, and Jon, her young son, just days after Marlys Ann and I were married. She was such a handsome woman!,Her first smile to me was of "Warmth,I truly felt "Welcome to our Family". My New Mother-In-Law, accepted me, in front of my Marlys, as a son, I respected her from day One! No matter her distance, she always comes back to my thoughts.

ARLA M.LIPPSMEYER 24X35 inch GRANITE PLAQUE

February 27, 2012

CATHEDRAL HIGH CLASS OF 1952 DEDICATE PLAQUE TO MRS LIPPSMEYER

The Reunion for the St Cloud Cathedral High School class of 1952 had an added Event for some of its members when they gathered during August 6-8, 2010, in St Cloud, MN.
A special group of 76 year old Senior Women, who were part of Girl Scout Troop 18, honored their 10-year plus Leader of that Troop, Arla M Lippsmeyer! As a Memorial to her, A  dedicated a 24 x 35 Inch Granite Plaque, with the School's Mission and vision statements, was placed in the CHS Front door  entrance, for all to vision and respect.
The plaque reads:  "This Plaque was donated to the Cathedral High
School in memory of Arla Lippsmeyer, Girl Scout Leader of Troop 18, by its members in the CHS class of 1952."
This dedication to their Girl Scout Leader, brings back many fond memories of Mrs Lippsmeyer, who gave so much of her time to help guide Scouts through Grade school and High School years from "Brownies" to "Seniors." All the young ladies recalled working on Badges relating to water life-saving, social skills, housekeeping, sewing and outdoor activities such as Ice Skating and Camping.  They produced the operatta "The Japanese Girl", which gave them Literature and Dramatics, Community Life and International Freindship Badges.  The event was written up in "AMERICAN GIRL" Magazine.
