Vancouver Sun/Province Obituary - Tuesday January 11, 2011.

January 10, 2011

LEMON, Arthur Albert March 21, 1925 – January 7, 2011. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Albert Lemon on January 7th, 2011 in Vancouver, in his 85th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Geraldine (Gerry). He will be greatly missed by his children, Glow, Brad, Penny and Darren, their partners, his much loved five grandchildren, his sister Isabelle, and many other relatives and friends.  Art was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario before enlisting in the Royal Canadian Navy and serving in the North Atlantic during WWII. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion #185. Art moved to BC in 1949 and raised a family in Vancouver. After his 50 year career as a boilermaker (local 359), and residential painter, Art enjoyed his hobby of making wooden garden products. He also enjoyed spending time in the company of his family and friends, both here and in Birch Bay. Art was a generous and caring man who had a natural desire to always help others. Art requested no formal service, but we invite you to drop by for a luncheon in celebration of his life with family and friends between 12:00pm and 2:00pm on Thursday, January 13th, 2011 in the Community Room, St. James Cottage Hospice, 650 North Penticton St., Vancouver (lower floor, north entrance). In memory of Art, he would have asked for donations to your local food bank.
