The Journey

Asante is loving father, grandfather, brother, son, community leader, trend setter,  Chicago stepper and ballroom dancer extraordinaire. He will always be remembered for his enthusiasm and zest for the finer things in life. Whether he was dancing the night away with friends, celebrating the good times with friends and family, or hard at work on his most recent professional project, Asante did it all with a passion and endless energy.

Asante, born in Chicago IL as Arnol Tolbert is one of the eight children born to Edgar Tolbert Sr and Marie Olivier Tolbert. Arnol attended Sumner elementary school located on Chicago's west side and graduated from John Marshall High School. He went on to pursue higher education at Southern Illinios University.

Asante is survived by his two loving daughters, Dorothy Small-Tolbert and Hanon Tolbert. Brothers, Allen ,Wayne and KevinTolbert.  Sisters, Gayle "Cerina" and Linda Tolbert. Nephews Marcus Tolbert,Tori Adams and Jamaal Malcolm Myles. Grandson Dior Keys.  

Asante was very proud of his collegiate experience at Southern Illinois University as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
