My Mom
I think I have her strength and bravery; no matter how painful her illness became she persevered; she was convinced she would recover and live
She had great faith and worshiped her Lord and when she became too sick to attend bible study at Church, the nuns came to our house
She taught me how to cook and the importance of women's lib
She laughed out loud at funny TV shows, she cried at dramas (our favorites were The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie)
She sang real loud with us in the car (every Sunday we listened to Casey Casum's Top 40); she loved music, she let us play albums over and over again
She always let me ride shotgun, I was the oldest after all; what can I say, birth order has it's privileges
She made a comfortable and happy home for us and I have tried to emulate it
BUT MOST OF ALL, with her passing, I don't take time for granted, I hug my kids and my husband extra hard, I try to tell them I love them frequently and I cherish each and every memory...
Mom, I have many blessings in my life today because you blessed my life. I love you and miss you.
