Barbara H. Blackwell, 73, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Mary Howe. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Grassy Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Woodrow Freeze, III and Rev. Lewis G. Blackwell, Jr. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the Memorial Service at the Church from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. and at other times the home.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Bruce Blackwell, Sr. of the home, three sons; Bruce Blackwell, Jr. (Vicki) of Monroe, Gordon Blackwell (Jan) of Oxford, Preston Blackwell (Kelly) of Oxford, a daughter, Berjouhi Keeton (Michael) of Bullock, two brothers; James and Frank Howe and a sister, Lugene Howe, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted.

Still missing you mom. There are days I find myself saying and doing things just like you. I remember you used to say all the time that you wished you could talk to your mom one more time. Now I say the same thing.. Sure do wish I could talk to you. Missing you mom.

Happy Birthday to the best Mother In Law in the world! If you were here today, we would be planning a "Big" family gathering and trying to figure out how we were going to do it with snow in the forecast. You taught us all that simple things in life were most important. We miss your hugs, your stories, and your laughter. Your memories will live forever!
