Summer fishing frenzy

May 30, 2011

Summer '09, Bob, Gail, Rob, Liz, Yoland and Matt went fishing on the Althea K and had a great day catching, striped bass and blue fish. That night Nana and Grampa came over and Nana Bea used her fish magic to bake a wonderful meal.

Nana Bea's Famous Fried Chicken

May 30, 2011

Whenever we visited Nantucket Nana Bea would make her wonderful fried chicken and certainly enough to feed an army.  We always asked for her potato salad and her favorite apple pie to go along. She created that perfect summer meal memory for us.

Bea's Baked Scallops

May 29, 2011

Aunt Bea was a master scallop shucker.  I remember when we went family scallop raking with Uncle Ted one October in Nantucket, Bea shucked our harvest fast as lightning!  I make her recipe for Baked Scallops often and chuckle when I come to the line in the recipe written in her hand that says "4 Ritz-Gotta be Ritz!"

Dinner at Gail and Bob's with Nana Bea, Grampa Ted, and Bea's Niece Stephanie Hanson, Nephew Martin Ceely and wife Renee, Grandsons Matt and Rob Ward and Grandnephew Adam Ceely

May 28, 2011

This was our 2010 Christmas party. Mom made dozens of cookies for dessert. It has also occurred to me that she made crocheted doiles for John and Ken and sets of crocheted doilies and coasters for Maureen and Dory. Mom was always doing for others, she had such a generous spirit.
