The daughter of the late Sonnie and Beatrice Parker Pearce, Mrs. Sauls was born in Columbus, Georgia and was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. She was military wife who travelled extensively with her husband, and was a devoted mother to her children. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Pearce.

Surviving are: her husband of 50 years, SFC (Ret.) John L. Sauls, Sr.; three sons, Larry Hill, Willie Tanner and John L. Sauls, Jr.; one daughter, Julia Darlene Sauls; ten grandchildren; great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Gardner and Grace Portefield; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
