His Life

Benjamin James Rosser Sr. affectionately known as "BJ" was born October 28, 1941, to Sylvester and Mattie Mae Rosser in Grantville, Georgia. In 1962, he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in music as a drummer. He united in marriage to the late Meddie Jean (Maddie) Rosser. To this union three children were born. He later married again to "Vivian".

BJ loved sports, he played baseball and football throughout his high school years. In his adult years, he played minor league baseball until an injury, sliding into first base. BJ was an avid sports fan. He was self-employed as a landscaper for many years and he worked for the City of Los Angles as a tree doctor until his retirement.

In the year 2000, he returned to his hometown to be with his father who passed away in 2003. By 2004, he was a member of Jehovah Baptist Church in his hometown of Grantville, Georgia. In 2011, BJ returned to his children in Los Angeles, where they cared for him until his demised. He was a great father and loving husband.

Benjamin was called home to be with the King, our God in Heaven on February 22, 2013 at 2:30pm . His Mother, Father, first wife Meddie Jean, and two brothers, Buford Lee and Sylvester Jr., all preceded him in death.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children, Benjamin Jr., Bridgette, Rochelle, and Derrick; nine grandchildren, Desheye, Joshua, Talton, Travon, Geraldyanna, Bryan, Brianna,  Morgan, and Derrick Jr.; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earling Rosser, Render Rosser; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.  We all love him, and will miss him dearly!
