His Life
June 28, 2012

Benjamin William Sung Keun Misch was born Sept. 6, 1997, at St. Rose De Lima Hospital, the son of Dr. Kenneth Misch and Dr. Rosemary Hyun. He passed away June 23, 2012 in Henderson, at 14. Ben attended Coronado High School where he actively participated in school events while achieving high academic honors. A student of the world, he traveled extensively throughout Europe and the continental U.S. Annually, he traveled to the United Kingdom and accompanied his father for the "World Pipe Band Championships." In addition, he represented the Krewe of Okeanos and the city of New Orleans as a Paige on the annual Mardi Gras festival float. As a world traveler, he developed a sophisticated palate; enough to become a food critic. He was his mother's son through and through. He cherished and valued every moment they spent together. The two souls mirrored each other. He idolized his big brother, Tim and shared their love of music, especially the drums. Though young, he was a very old soul with much compassion, gentleness, and tolerance for all who he encountered. He embraced and welcomed everyone graciously into his life. Material possessions were not important to him; family and friendships were what he truly treasured. He experienced more in his short time on this earth than most ever will. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anna and Daniel Hyun; and paternal grandfather, William B. Misch. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Ken and Dr. Rosemary; brother, Timothy Misch; his paternal grandmother, Allene Misch of Las Vegas; several aunts and uncles; cousins; and a host of friends.
