Benton “Ben” Edwin Grissom, 80, a native and lifetime resident of Granville County, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday January 27, 2019, after a short illness, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.
Ben was the son of the late Thomas Grissom and Myrtle Cole and was the husband of Patricia Cooper Grissom, his wife of 26 years. He was retired from maintenance at John Umstead Hospital and a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Pittman. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife who was at his side at the time of his death, two step-sons, Alan Baynes and wife Helen of Rougemont, Timmy and wife Jackie of Wake Forest , four grandchildren, Jacob Grissom, Craven Baynes (Beverly), Eddie Baynes, Clayton Baynes and Cooper Baynes, one great granddaughter, Hannah Baynes and a sister in-law, Sandra Grissom.  He will be missed by his many beloved friends and neighbors.
Ben was preceded in death by his two sons, Jerry Thomas Grissom and Timothy Grissom and his brothers Marion and Vann Grissom.
Visitation will be held Wednesday January 30, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:45 prior to the service in the Sanctuary at Providence Baptist Church and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church,   in care of Tonya Perry, Treasurer, 4603 Old Rt. 75, Oxford, NC 27565 .
