Bernice's life can best be summed up by her book:

"I Will Survive:My Persoanl Fight with the Big C"

She had to be strong from the very beginning, & she was. She turned her challenges into victories, & enriched the life of every person she met. She never let anything stop her & she lived life to the fullest. Her love & strength touched everyone. She had a great sense of humor. All of this shone even more beautifully when she spoke of her husband of 36 years, Brian. "Her soulmate" she referred to him, & he to her. As well as her fur children-some left this earth before her, & some are left behind. We are all better people for having known this stong & amazing woman.
