Her Life

Blessed to have you as our MOM

March 23, 2016

In memory of our Mother, mom,Grandmaw and mamaw
She was an amazing mother, she was strong, but loving and dedicated.
Bertha was born on December 29,1937 in Lynn Indiana, to the late Kenneth and Pauline(Wilson)Clear.  Bertha married her husband of 55 Years Edward Marquis on April 8,1957. Mom went on to raise 7 adventurous kids as a stay at home mom, and made due with what she had to work with, she had several challenges, contacting the measles at a early age limited her eyesight and losing her hearing at age 23, But those obsticles didn't change her ability to be a Beautiful positive person and an amazing mom.  She was always motivating us to work for what you want in life, even at a young age we would go tomato picking just so we would have our own money, she was the distributor of the Sunday Star so we had our own paper routes.  She was always doing odd jobs to help with the house, from taking care of handicap elderly patients, to taking care of the neighbor kids whose patients had to work early, she would get them breakfast and send them off to school.
Mom loved getting the family together for picnics and Holidays and Birthdays, she always made sure dad had the camera ready, and always put the name and dates on the pictures so we will never forget. She always had dinner ready and we always ate together at the table.  She instilled the family prayer and to this day my husband and I say it everyday. We had alot of fun times, from being that special one to help at the laundry mat knowing mom always bought you a coke and a candy bar for helping, or the walks to town hoping we would find something special and we usually did, to the dancing in the living room even though mom couldnt hear the music.
Maybe she was Super Woman, but maybe just our Mom.
Which ever  we will always be proud to say we are her children.  love and miss you mom
