Betty Roberts Ivey was born on May 5, 1942 to the late Frank Roberts and Anna Scott in Sylvania, Georgia. She received her education in Sylvania, Georgia.

Betty united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Hallandale, Florida at an early age and later united with the Old Sardis Baptist Church, Union Springs, Alabama.

  Betty was employed for several years by the Golden Nugget Hotel, Hallandale, Florida. She later relocated to Union Springs, Alabama where she married Henry Thomas Ivey, Jr. on October 7, 2001. To this union numerous brother-in-laws, sister- in-laws, nieces and nephews were produced whom she cherished and loved very dearly. She was also a treasured employee of the Union Springs Nutrition Program For The Elderly, Union Springs, Alabama.

  Betty enjoyed watching Western Movies, traveling, tilling a beautiful garden growing fruits, vegetables and plants, caring for her grandchildren and meeting new people.

  Betty departed from us here on earth Sunday, December 7, 2014. We should find comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed with Heavenly arms by her four brothers: Damon Roberts, Joseph Roberts, Henry Roberts and Redford Scott; two sisters: Lena Mae Walker and Evelyn Kelly; two daughters: Anna Frederick and Vanessa Roberts; one granddaughter whom she reared: Tatika Roberts.

Betty leaves to cherish her most precious and loving memories: husband: Henry Thomas Ivey, Jr.; two daughters: Jacqueline Frederick and Sheri Cook, both of Hollywood, Florida; one son: Paul Cook of Union Springs, Alabama; five grandchildren whom she reared: Duane E. Moment, Jr. and Daneka Frederick both of Montgomery, Alabama, Yolanda Moment of Kentucky, Tameka Moment of Jacksonville, Alabama, and Nykijah Cook of Union Springs,Alabama; eight grandchildren: Leverett Frederick, Tavaris Roberts, Salisia Frederick, Roy Duncan Jr., Rashad Harris, Khamari Cook, Ashanti Cook and Kamori lane; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The staff of Carter Funeral Home is honored to have served the family of the late Mrs. Betty Roberts Ivey and join the family in an extreme expression of gratitude for the care and support extended to them during the illness and demise of their precious loved one.
