Bettye was a woman ahead of her time. She was born into a family of notable accomplishments with strong traditions of the Old South. Education, achievement and high moral standards were her ballast. She was highly intelligent, determined, industrious, and believed strongly in the dignity achieved from personal efforts, attention to detail and accomplishing goals. All the while exhibiting the grace and gentility of a true woman of the South. She was exceptionally proud of her heritage, an avid reader, keen observer of the effects of history on the present, an erudite conversationalist and accomplished athlete in her youth.

I am proud to be have been her step-daughter; her influence has been and will continue to be a motivating force in my life.

Eleanor and family,
So sorry for your loss! "Aunt Bettye" as we all affectionately knew her will be missed. She was a wonderful lady! She was always so kind to Ernestine's side of the family during our visits with the "Millers". She always treated us like we were hers.  I will always remember how caring and generous she was while dad was in the hospital there in Atlanta.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!
