Her Life
November 8, 2010

Bev was born on January 28, 1950 in Le Mars, Iowa to Arnold and Rosemary Robinette. Bev was a beautiful, strong, intelligent and talented woman who loved her family, friends, God and the game of golf. She was the champion at her local country club more than once and played in many tournaments throughout the Midwest over the past 20 years, racking up numerous accolades. In addition to club champ, one of her most notable records was her eight hole-in-ones. Bev was very competitive and competent at many sports including: swimming, bowling and tennis. Bev also had the voice of an angel and enjoyed singing karaoke with her friends and family and was the star of her high school musical. A master of crossword puzzles, she could often be found with a mammoth dictionary, cup of coffee, pencil and a newspaper. She enjoyed playing cards, her travels to Mexico, reading novels, watching NCIS and playing Sudoku. Bev always knew what to say to help her family and friends cope with this crazy life. Countless hours were spent on the phone. Her words of comfort and knowledge will be missed.

Bev was preceded in death by her father Arnold Robinette of Le Mars, Iowa and is now playing golf with him in heaven.

Bev is survived by her mother Rosemary Robinette of Le Mars Iowa, brothers, Joseph RobinetteĀ  and John Robinette, sisters, Barbara Robinette, Rosalie Nicoson and Roberta Kass; her high school sweetheart and husband of 42 years-Norm Cockrell(also of Le Mars, Iowa); their five children and their spouses; Chris and Dawn Cockrell of Riverside, Missouri; Nico and Greg Westfall of Ozark, Missouri; Kyle and Sarah Cockrell of Kansas City, Missouri; Jesse Cockrell of Riverside, Missouri and Joe and Robyn Cockrell of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She was extremely proud of all of her grandchildren; Myles Cockrell, Malana Bradford, Hanna Westfall, Abby Westfall, Gena Cockrell, Cecelia Westfall, Jace Cockrell, Maggie Westfall, Riley Cockrell, Bella Cockrell, Eliza Cockrell, Corinne Cockrell and Bodie Cockrell.

Bev was the most amazing wife, mother and friend. She will be missed terribly here on Earth but she is happy now, pain free and resting peacefully with God and her dad.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Twelve Apostles Catholic Church 'Building Fund' or the Kansas City Cancer Society Research Division, in honor of Bev Cockrell. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 13, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 407 Cherry Street, Weston, Missouri, with Rev. Charles Rowe as celebrant. Following mass, the family will receive friends at the Parish Hall.

The Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland in Parkville has been entrusted with the final arrangements. www.meyersfuneralchapel.com
