Billy Wayne Brooks, 61, a resident of Old Mill Farm Road, Franklinton passed away Thursday, June 23rd at the home of his son.

A native of Wake County, the son of the late Charles Spurgeon . He was a plumber by trade and medically retired.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Griffin Brooks of 26 years, three daughters, Tina Brooks of Raleigh, Kimberly B. Jackson of Erwin, Elizabeth Cox of Jacksonville, four sons, John Williams of Franklinton, Billy Brooks Jr., Rocky Brooks, James Brooks all of Roseboro,  his mother, Betty Ree Brooks, two sisters, Cheryl Jean Adams, Betty Carolina Medlin, four brothers, Johnnie Reddick Brooks, Lonnie Carl Brooks, Charles Ray Brooks, Danny Brooks, nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26th at the home of his son, James Brooks in Butner.
