His Life

Bill Langston

January 11, 2016

A wonderful and amazing man, husband, father, friend,  passed away this past week on the 9th of January 2016.  We as a family could all spend days, hours and minutes telling you how great this man was and what he meant to us.  But this page was created for you to share your thoughts and memories of Bill.

Here are just a few highlights of his life:

Billy Langston died peacefully in the Hospice Care Center in Orange City, FL on January 9, 2016 at the age of 79.  He is survived by his wife Virginia of 58 years, their three children Lori, Billy and David and their spouses Jerry, Kym and Lise. In addition, he treasured his beautiful grandchildren, James and Katrina Phillips III, Jason Phillips, Olivia, Annalise, Corrine, and Avery Langston.

“Billy C” was born July 7th in Rossville, GA to Edward and Lilly Langston. He graduated from Lakeview High School and years later went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Rollins College.

He spent 22 years in the Air Force attaining the rank of Master Sargent where he was assigned multiple tours in Vietnam. Later he served as a Photo Interpreter supporting the SR-71 reconnaissance program.

He and his family moved to the Orlando area in 1976 where he had another full and successful career with Phillips and Jacobs, a graphic art service and supply company. He managed the top branch in the company until the day he retired.

Billy is best remembered for his quick southern wit, warm laugh, compassion, and generosity to his community, friends and family. In retirement he was not one to pass up a Gators football game, a round of golf or a poker game with friends and relatives. His stories were legendary!
