Grandpa i miss u so very much. Your wisdom, your sense of humor was undeniable and you weren't even trying to be funny. But I will forever remember you. Jada talks about u from time to time. She misses u too. Your wisdom lives on thru your children. If I have a question concerning anything in the Word of God I know for sure I can always ask Mommie and uncle Timothy. That comes from your teaching. Thank you Grandpa.

In 2014 just 5-years ago we suffered the lost of one of the greatest Americans to ever live, one with remarkable power of forming a mental image of something and expressive capabilities, oh one would say you’re talking about Mrs. Maya Angelou (1928-2014), no not Mrs. Angelou, though she was great in her own way. I’m talking about a man’s man, one who mastered his business (work); I’m talking about the honorable, Bishop Harvey Tyler D.D. Pastor, Evangelist, Teacher etc. In 1973 I was under his Expository Preaching when he was doing the work of an Evangelist; in 1973 C.O.G.I.C had very little Expository Preaching that I new of, I longed for his revivals it seemed like I couldn’t have enough of his teaching, his type of ministry was rare in those days, it’s even hard to find now. Unfortunately I missed his pastoral leadership but I would pass Liberty C.O.G.I.C going to and from work to see him working around the church grounds, I would think how many pastor’s would be working the church grounds like that or driving a small car like that, just a testament to his character. I feel so inadequate talking about this great “Man of God” my hart goes out to the Tyler Family, I mourn with you; I cannot fathom your lost it’s beyond my comprehension. I thank God for Jesus that comforts the grieving heart. Man might forget us but the Lord will not forsake his saints; I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Praise the Lord, Bishop’s laboring is finished no more toil, pains or weariness; his accomplishments will never be forgotten. If I could be a fraction of the man he was I do well.

On this Father's Day, June 17, 2018, I reflect upon my dad being a GOOD dad, Bible teacher. preacher, pastor and bishop. I was given the opportunity to teach a Wednesday night Bible study at a church from 2010 through 2015. I taught the following books of the New Testament in their entirety, verse, by verse: Hebrews. James, I Peter, II Peter, I John, II John, III John, Jude and the gospel of John. During that time period, I would tell my dad which book I was teaching. He would tell me, “Keep on teaching,” or “Keep up the good work.” Dad went home to be with the Lord when I was teaching the Gospel of John, in 2014.

On this Father's Day I am thinking about the last time I saw him. I played a CD called "Enjoying Jesus Hallelu" while he sat in the wheelchair dancing with his feet. Now He is truly enjoying Jesus, Hallelujah!!!

Thinking about my dad on this Father's Day. I am thankful that he lead me to the Lord by using the Bible, specifically, Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus and believe in thy heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, thou shalt be saved." He also used Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." I am also thankful that he was an example. His studying, preaching and teaching the Bible caused me to study the Bible, too. I also have taught the Bible in Sunday School, YPWW (Young People's Willing Worker's Class), Mid-week Bible studies and Sunday Worship Services. So I KNOW, as the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." Dad is with the Lord because he accepted Christ as his Savior when he was a teenager.
