A native of Harris County, GA., and the daughter of the late John P. and Blanchie Lee Starr Cook, Mrs. Buchanan worked for British Petroleum(BP). In her spare time she loved to travel, exercise, cook and play Bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, SFC Timothy Buchanan and a brother, Johnny Cook.

Survivors include: her children, Yolanda Buchanan, Kid Jackson(Jessica) and Timothy N. Buchanan; six grandchildren, Tyeshia Smith, Jessica Sluis(Lamont), Brianna Jackson, Kierra Griffin, Jamal and Jamel Griffin; three great grandchildren, Cody Griffin, Kayla and Myliah Sluis; siblings, Sonny Cook(Linda), Charlie Cook and Mittie Lewis(Matthew); step-father, Mr. Johnny Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
