Robert Earl “Bobby” Hayes, 62, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late Lester Earl Hayes. He was of the Methodist faith and retired from Central Regional Hospital in Butner.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 5:00 PM, Friday, April 27, 2012 at Bullock United Methodist Church by Rev. Brock Meyer and Rev. Jimmy Walker.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Betsy Green Hayes of the home, a daughter, Brittany Marie Hayes of the home, his mother, Elsie Smith Hayes, a sister, Joyce Marie Hayes, both of Butner, a niece, Angela Wiggs of Stem and a nephew, Michael Whitfield of Butner.
Visitation will be held at the home.
Eakes Funeral Home, Inc. in Creedmoor assisting the Hayes family.
"Of all my school age memories Bobby is certainly one of the best. We had a lot of fun times at Creedmoor School. No doubt we both should have studied harder and played around less but it sure was fun, and I'll always remember Bobby from those times."
