Hunter “Buck” McKinley Grady, 89, a longtime resident of Creedmoor passed away, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at VA Hospital in Durham.

A native of Mecklenburg County, Virginia, the son of the late Hunter J.  and Fannie Newcomb Grady. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran receiving several medals including the silver star and purple heart and retired from the water plant for the City of Creedmoor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Marc Tilley.  Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Willie Lee Boyd Grady, two daughters, Charlotte Stephenson, Bettie Petty, two sons, Robert M. Grady and Glenn J. Grady, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Mae Vargo Grady, four sisters, Alma Harris, Flossie Newcomb, Louise Powell, Sudie Seamster and a stepson, Bobby Cifers.

Visitation 12:30 PM-2:00 PM Saturday, February 9th 2013 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at 2526 Washington Ave. Creedmoor, NC 27522
