Frank was a neighbor and a close friend for many years. We became acquainted when both of us became instrumental in taking control of our homeowner association, which had suffered from lack of attention for several years. With Frank and his tremendous wife, Jennifer's help, we became an instant success in turning the neighborhood around. Frank constantly had ideas for projects that needed doing and we made sure they got done.
Even after both of us left the homeowner business to others, we remained close friends, spending many holiday times together, sometimes at Frank and Jennifer's house and other times at their daughter Renee's home in Hampton, VA. As a single man with no relatives near, being 'adopted' by Frank and Jennifer meant a great deal to me on these occasions.
After I retired from my government job, Frank strongly recommended I apply for work under the senior's plan at EPA. I did this and obtained a position in the Wetlands Office, where I worked for several years. I applied for a position within EPA in the Privacy Office, since this had been my speciality when I worked for DoD. After some time there, I finally decided it was time to retire 100%. A while after that, I learned that my social security hours there at EPA added to those earlier in my working life totaled 40, meaning I would receive a small monthly SSAN check. That amount is almost $300/month which I wouldn't receive if it wasn't for Frank's advice that I try the EPA's senior's program.
I agree fully with everything others have said about Frank. He brightened up every moment we shared. I already miss Frank but will have the good memories of him forever.
