A Unique Person

August 12, 2016

Frank was a special individual.  I knew him mainly from many conversations over the course of three decades, primarily at or after meetings that we both attended.  Unlike many people I ran into at these events, where the "Hello" was often perfunctory, Frank always had something to ask or talk about.  So many times I had to stop and fully consider what he was saying.  He often brought up important questions I had never contemplated.  He cared deeply about inner peace and actively sought mutual understanding, qualities that were and are outstanding.  He earned my deep respect, and I feel honored that he respected me the way that he did.  He is someone that I will truly miss.

A Nice Person

My story about Frank is very simple.  I did not know him well, but I would see him at lectures I attended about and with Prem Rawat.  What struck me about Frank is he was always smiling and he was so kind and caring not to some but to everyone.  Rest in peace Frank.

Memories of my Father

June 9, 2016

This is Randall Bell and he was my Father.     My best friend, Matthew, reminded me about the Washington Senators baseball games, the yearly weekend camping trips and staying up for 24 hours.  We became fans of the Washington Senators; sadly they only had one winning season before moving to Texas.    Their last game at RFK was forfeited, the fans rushed the field with 2 outs in the 9th inning with the team leading.    Each year we went camping for the weekend at the Wheaton Regional Park.  As a birthday present to me, we planned and stayed up for 24 hours which was a big deal, and going to Dulles airport was the most memorable.

Many years ago, Frank was one of my housemates along with good friends Edison, Ricky, my husband and my two sons and was even in the house when my third son was born at home.  We were all very good friends and Frank was always such an upbeat person enjoying life immensely and enjoying the message of peace of Prem Rawat, traveling often to events to hear him speak, and enjoying every minute.  We all had such a wonderful time together and Frank kept in touch over all these years.  I had the opportunity to meet Jennifer once at a program, not sure if she remembers me, and Frank was so happy to have met her.  He had a wonderful much fuller life  because of Jennifer and I have been so happy over the years to see him thrive.  We all have to go, but he kept active and healthy and alert until the end and did not have to die in the hospital.  Way to go, Frank!  Blessings my friend, I know you are free of your aging frame now, and enjoying! But I will be sad every year that I don't get my annual Christmas letter from you.    I am posting a link to something you will appreciate, a 3 minute excerpt of a talk by Prem and it is called "You Are Ageless"! http://www.wopg.org/wld/you-are-ageless/. : enjoy it wherever you are now, and enjoy it on Frank's behalf, anyone reading this.

Frank was a neighbor and a close friend for many years.  We became acquainted when both of us became instrumental in taking control of our homeowner association, which had suffered from lack of attention for several years.  With Frank and his tremendous wife, Jennifer's help, we became an instant success in turning the neighborhood around.  Frank constantly had ideas for projects that needed doing and we made sure they got done.

Even after both of us left the homeowner business to others, we remained close friends, spending many holiday times together, sometimes at Frank and Jennifer's house and other times at their daughter Renee's home in Hampton, VA.  As a single man with no relatives near, being 'adopted' by Frank and Jennifer meant a great deal to me on these occasions.

After I retired from my government job, Frank strongly recommended I apply for work under the senior's plan at EPA.  I did this and obtained a position in the Wetlands Office, where I worked for several years.  I applied for a position within EPA in the Privacy Office, since this had been my speciality when I worked for DoD.  After some time there, I finally decided it was time to retire 100%.  A while after that, I learned that my social security hours there at EPA added to those earlier in my working life totaled 40, meaning I would receive a small monthly SSAN check.  That amount is almost $300/month which I wouldn't receive if it wasn't for Frank's advice that I try the EPA's senior's program.

I agree fully with everything others have said about Frank.  He brightened up every moment we shared.  I already miss Frank but will have the good memories of him forever.
