His Life
September 29, 2013
In moments of reflection, our Dad talked about his early life as a troubled youth.  He questioned his own ability to care for others and for others to care for him.  He left home as a teenager, his family unsure of his fate.

This self-proclaimed agitator survived and thrived in the armed services.  He rose from enlisted-man to Sergeant and grew to be a well-respected leader.  He continued his service to his country as a postal letter carrier, proud to have integrated the Brownsville, NY Post Office.  He retired after 40 years with commendations as a testament to a job well done.

He surpassed his own expectations again as a dedicated and caring husband, father, uncle, brother and grandfather.  After 50 years of marriage he selflessly cared for our ill mother, Hermine, until the Lord called her home.  He spent his later years fashioning a home in Florida that expressed pride in his heritage, and love of his family and country.  Even when hindered by his own illness, he continued to maintain the independent spirit, strength of character and acts of generosity displayed throughout his life.

Blessed, Peaceful Rest Daddy.

With love,

Doreen & Michele
