Her Life
November 28, 2014

Carole was born in New York City on March 22, 1937.  Her parents were Hall Davis Coleman and May Elizabeth Nordhorn and has two brothers, Hall and Robert.

Growing up, Carole lived in Manhattan, Astoria and Jackson Heights. She always excelled in school, had many friends and was always dedicated to her family. Summers were spent heading out to her grandfather's bungalo in Farmingville, Long Island.

After graduating Queens College, she backpacked to Europe for the summer.....something she always encouraged us to do (and in retrospect, I wish I took her advice).  She later became a elementary school teacher in Malverne, NY.

In 1971, she would marry the love of her life, William Taylor and have two sons, William and Robert.  After several years,  she would return to teaching elementary school at PS 40 in Jamaica, Queens.

Her son Robert would later marry Michelle and have two beautiful children, Faye and Phillip.

Carole would spend her free time visiting family and friends......attended church, local community events and spend weekends in Montauk as often as possible.

During the course of her life, she always made an impact on everyone she met.  Always kind, thoughtful and outgoing, she tried to make a difference at every opportunity......and would be the first to help those that needed it.

Words cannot express how much she meant to us and how much she is missed.  She was an amazing sister, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother and friend anyone could wish for.  I hope over time, the great sense of loss we feel can be replaced by all the wonderful memories that we have.

Mom, we will miss and love you always.
