N-DUBZ star Fazer helped carry the coffin at the funeral of mother-of-two Caroline Cain who died from a heart condition, aged just 29.

Fazer, whose real name is Richard Rawson, was a close friend of Ms Cain, who died last month after a 14-year battle. Her mother, Helen, led the tributes to Caroline, who grew up in Kentish Town but was living with her children in Oval Road, Camden Town.

She had bravely undergone 10 operations on her heart, having been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy when she was a teenager.

The condition did not stop Caroline showering her children – Jade, 10, and Jordan, 8 – with love.

Helen said: “She was mad about her kids.

“Every last penny she had went on them. She bought them teddy bears all the time. A pink one for Jade, and a blue one for Jordan.

“Even if she had no money for herself, they had the best clothes, the best Christmas presents, they got the best dinners, even when she was too ill to cook, she’d still be making spaghetti bolognese, macaroni and cheese, shepherd’s pie, everything you could think of. Jade has a photo of her mummy and she kisses it and strokes her face every day and every night.”

Caroline’s dream was to take her children to Disneyland Paris.

“She was going to save every last penny,” said Helen, “then one day take them to the train station and surprise them. She wanted to see them happy on the barges in the river here in London, having fun on the open-air tour bus. I will make sure all that still happens.”

Caroline grew up in Kentish Town until she was 11, going to Our Lady R C Primary school, and then went on to the now closed St Richards of Chichester School in Royal College Street.

Despite her illness, she studied for a childcare NVQ until she was unable to continue.

Her funeral, at Golders Green cemetery, included music by Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, and her favourite band, N-Dubz.

Helen added: “I’ll never forget her huge CD collection. There were hundreds of them neatly stacked away.

“All you could ever hear from her bedroom was loud music beats.

“The kids were always taking them and messing them up though. One thing I am glad about is that she loved taking home videos. We have dozens of them, of her and the children. We will treasure them, so that when Jade and Jordan grow up, they will see how beautiful their mother was and how much she adored them.”
