Carolyn Hudson Yancey was born in Union Springs, AL on July 1, 1960 to the late Anna Jane Hudson and Richard Benjamin, both of whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Keisha Davis, her brother Robert L. Hudson and sisters Lizzie Hudson Payne, Pastor Willie Cldye Hudson-Fitzpatrick, Annie L. Hudson, Flora Jean Jackson, and Gloria Benjamin.

Carolyn graduated from Bullock High School, and furthered her education at Miles College. Employed in various disciplines, Carolyn worked as a Teacher’s Aide and owned, A. C. & R Janitorial Service. In 1998 she relocated to Montgomery, AL, where she started Genesis Child Development Center. In later years she became the Executive of House Keeping at a major Hotel.

She was a member of City of Restoration Church, Montgomery, AL, where she served as an Evangelist, and was also known as Evangelist Carolyn McQueen. Carolyn was later ordained into the ministry as a Pastor, January 29, 2012.

On Valentine’s Day 2013, Carolyn married Mr. Ricky Yancey.
Carolyn exchange life for eternity on May 27, 2015.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her spouse, Ricky Yancey; children, Jeremiah Hudson and Jalisa Rogers, Montgomery, AL; step-daughter, Towonia Yancey, Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Parris Hudson, Anniston, AL, Ah’marri Dorsainvil and Demarion Dorsainvil, both of Montgmery, AL; siblings, Mattie (George) Townsel, Betty (James) Sanders, Icyphine (Oran) Walker, all of Union Springs, AL, James Benjamin of Clanton, AL, Barbara Hudson (niece) who was raised as one of her sisters, Orange Park, FL, Eddie Mae Benjamin, Richard Benjamin, Ivory Barkley, Carolyn Johnson, Randle Benjamin, and Charley (Lela) Maul Jr., all of Cleveland, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends, including Evangelist Jeanette Britton, Montgomery, AL and Richard Lewis. Evangelist Britton was a main friend, who remained just that, no matter what, one who loved her to the end, whom we all consider our sister.
